TRAIL REPORT

ARROWHEAD STATE TRAIL - thanks to the MN DNR
4/2/2013: The trail is currently in pretty good shape but with these sunny days and temps in the 40's it will quickly deteriorate.  The trail will no longer be groomed.  Enjoy it while it lasts..  Trail base: 4".  Local snow depth is 25-30".

4/1/2013:  Grant-in-Aid trails are now closed for the season.  Thank you  for a great winter and we hope to see you again next year.  Be safe!

3/29/13: Well officially for snowmobilers on GIA trails winter will come to an end April 1st. Even though winter got off to a slow start for us it turned out to be a pretty great year. I hope everyone enjoys the months ahead and we'll see you on the trail Dec 1st.

VOYAGEURS NAT'L PARK
4/3/2013: All snowmobile trails in the park are open at this time. Grooming on  all trails has ended for the season; expect trail conditions to deteriorate as  temperatures continue to rise. Beware of hazardous slush conditions.

A reminder that the snowmobile speed limit in the park is 45 mph on lake surfaces and 25 mph on the land trails.

The Kabetogama Lake and Rainy Lake Ice Roads are closed for the season.

FYI - riders born after December 31, 1976 are required by law to hold snowmobile safety certification.  Persons 16 years of  age and older, resident or non-residents are eligible for adult certification. Adults can complete and pass an independent study CD or a youth snowmobile certification class. 
Children 11yr – 15yr are eligible to attend, complete and pass a youth snowmobile safety certification class with the certificate valid at age 12. 
SEE SAFETY

We suggest that all snowmobiler, residents and non residents, become familiar with the laws and
regulations and pass it on to friends or customers that may be planning on riding in Minnesota.
 

Please don’t forget to purchase a Minnesota state “trail permit” for your sled.
