Matthew Scott is an adventurer, writer, and lifelong gearhead who started competitively racing at the age of five and still enjoys playing around with open-wheel race cars. A seasoned overlander and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society in London, Matthew has been a part of vehicle-based expeditions on multiple continents, tackling diverse terrains from African and Australian deserts to Central American jungles. He has even shared his expertise by teaching at the Royal Geographical Society on multiple occasions.
Closer to home, Matthew has taken his EarthRoamer XV-LTS as far north as the Arctic Ocean, exploring remote corners of North America with his wife, Laura, and their rescue greyhound, Dakar. When he’s not navigating trails or crafting stories, you’ll find him fine-tuning his vintage BMW motorcycle or geeking out over the latest in expedition gear. Beyond writing, I’ve launched a successful business in the overland and adventure industry, specializing in importing innovative products from Australia and South Africa. My personal interests include vehicle-based international travel, open-wheel and prototype race cars, photography, camping, and pushing off-road vehicles to their limits.
